T100 Arm Clamp Precautions

The DJI Agras T100 is an amazing drone.  It is fairly new to us here in South Africa and we have to learn the many ins and outs of the drone.  We have recently received a report from Agrihawk on the arm clamp and a very important precaution that needs to be taken when fastening the arm clamp.

There is a retaining pin that needs to go into the correct slot so that the arm can be clamped tight.  Attempting to force the clamp closed before the arm is fully locked into the open position will cause the pin to not move into the slot.  this will cause it to get stuck between the clamp and the arm, which will break the clamp if enough force is used.  Watch the video for more details.

Hi, this is Kobus Downey from AnJaLi Drone Tech. Welcome back to the channel. And today I want to share a little bit about my experience with T100 as I was flying it on our farmer's day on the 22nd of September in 2025.
So the T100 is not yet in South Africa. It has been revealed in South Africa, but there is only one T100 in South Africa at the moment. It's the drone owned by Agrihawk and we had a chance to borrow it for a day and have our farmer's day and to present it to the farmers and so we can get to know the drone and everything.

So, we got the drone on Saturday afternoon, unboxed it on Sunday, and did a couple of tests with it. And one thing that really stood out for me was how stable the drone flew in windy conditions. We had very windy weather here. And we tested it and it was rock solid. Compared to the T40 which we had here which is shown here in this video comparison video. It's very stable. The drone is very sensitive to controls, very reactive, very responsive, really amazing to fly.
The atomizer system spraying at 30 to 40 L depending on the setup with the extended spray package 40 L with a with a standard configuration 30 L a minute. I'm confident it will be more than enough for our standard needs in northern South Africa.

So on Monday the 22nd of September 2025 we had our demo day. We got the T100 drone obviously just for the day. So we had a good time. We had a great time in Bethal. We had a great time in Tabazimbi.
And I just want to share a couple of things on the flight performance of the T100.
The battery of the T100 is only 30% larger in capacity than the T50, which is not a lot considering the drone is carrying double the payload. So DJI has a lot of efficiency improvements, including propeller efficiency.
You'll see the propeller design is slightly different, but also the flight speed.

This drone has an incredible max flight speed of 72 km an hour. That is 20 m/s. That is a really amazing speed. The drone flies out really fast to its site to start spraying and it returns really fast back to home. So that's really going to help with the battery efficiency.
The other thing obviously is when spraying at above 5 m of altitude above the ground, the drone can fly at 72 km an hour while spraying or spreading. However, if the altitude drops below 5 m, the drone will brake and it will try to stop itself.
So make sure that your altitude stays above. I recommend 5.5 m as an altitude setting.
Bear in mind this works very well on flat land. I'm not so sure about hilly land. We didn't really get to test it on any hilly form of land, but when you're flying more traditionally at a lower altitude of 3m - 3.5m, which we normally do, your flight speed, maximum flight speed is 49.8 km/h on the software. So that's a pretty decent speed. It's a lot faster than the T50 was spraying.

So with your slightly increased swath width we sprayed at 11 m at 30 L a hectare and we were able to empty a tank at 48 km an hour spraying speed. So that that's not bad at all. Also at 20L/Ha at that speed you wouldn't be able to spray empty a complete tank. For sure you won't. We were able to empty 70 to 80 litres depending on the scenario, depending on the situation of the field. So, you will still be able to spray 3.5 to 4 hectares at 50 km an hour. When flying at 5 m and above and spraying at 72 km an hour, you can fill the tank for sure. Definitely the drone will finish the spray task at 20 L a hectare. Not an issue for the drone for sure.

Now on to the spreading. This the new spreader of of the T100 is a really amazing innovation. I am very impressed by its capabilities. Obviously we just had it for a demo. So we had a a bit of material there and we did some spreading.
The new spreader system uses an auger system to feed into the spinner disc. No longer using gravity feed as with the T50. It's now using an auger. This allows it to be more accurate with the spreading of material with feeding the material into the spinner.

So what DJI have accomplished is they have an auto calibration material feature. The auto calibration material feature now allows the drone to adjust in real time the spreading amount so that it can be more accurate. Without calibration we set up a field in Thabazimbi. It was 0.37 hectares. I set it up to spread at 100 kg a hectare. So it should spread in theory 37 kg without any calibration. I put in the material. The drone has never seen that material before as far as I know. Drone went out. It was a mixed material. There was different sizes and everything. So it's not a consistent material. And it spread it at at 38 kg.
So that's pretty accurate. That's less than 5% margin of error, which is not bad at all. And that is without calibration. It's really amazing.
I was fascinated by that and I think that will definitely make farmers life a lot easier when spreading material on fields.

Final thing is flight safety. DJI has implemented a couple of new features on flight safety. I think with the drone being 175 kg of take-off weight, it is a really big machine and it is a dangerous machine and flight safety is of utmost importance.
So the first thing I do want to mention is DJI's implemented a payload weight limitation on the drone. Depending on your altitude and weather conditions, the drone will tell you how much payload you're allowed to put in the drone.
So, in Bethal, we had a payload limit of 91 L. In Thabazimbi, we had one of 95 L. So, you're not allowed to put in any more payload than that. If you do overfill it, the drone will refuse to take off to do its operations, so you'll have to empty payload, which is a very good thing.

The second thing obviously is obstacle avoidance. The drone has a couple of new features in its optical avoidance system.
Number one is for automatic obstacle avoidance, the camera system. DJI uses optical recognition to do obstacle avoidance and and that kind of stuff, automatic obstacle bypassing. The new T100 uses a Penta-Vision system which uses five cameras. It also uses the FPV camera which you use on the bottom which is a fisheye lens and then uses four other cameras situated on the radar which have 360 view.
For the first time an agricultural drone from DJI can see in all directions using its cameras. So for the automatic obstacle bypassing, that's a really big change and a really good improvement.

The second thing obviously is the radar system. DJI still uses the millimetre -wave radar system which they used on the T50. Very accurate, very good radar system. There are three radars on the drone. The first one is the rotating one you see on top. The second is a radar situated below the FPV camera and the third is situated on the spraying or spreader tank and also on the cargo system.

The third thing which is new is the Lidar system which DJI have implemented. Uh this one is unique in the sense that it uses infrared laser to create a point cloud which it will send out and if there is an object in the way it will reflect the the light back to the drone and the drone will know exactly where that object is in 3D space around it.
What it also implemented is a memory system where the drone remembers obstacles it's flown past on the Lidar system. So if you have an obstacle in the field, the drone flies past it. When it comes back and it's inside its lane, it will already know of that obstacle before getting close to it because it has remembered what it has seen.

​Just one thing that I do want to note about flight safety is the drones, while having very good obstacle avoidance and very good systems implemented by DJI, the drone will struggle to detect fence lines and power lines when flying head-on perpendicularly into them.
So, flying at a speed of 72 km/h, make sure that your drone is not flying towards small obstacles. It will not know of them, and it will not detect them in time, and it may have a crash. When flying past an object in parallel, for instance, if you fly next to a fence line or a power line, the drone will detect that and will remember it when it comes back in that towards that location.

Always exercise caution when mapping.
Make sure that you map as if you are mapping for a drone with no obstacle avoidance. So, always map out any obstacles, any trees, any power lines. Make sure you map them out and don't fly into the power lines. [Music]

The drone has been in the Cape for Cape Nampo and has only been unveiled there.  
We had just received word that the T100 is coming back up North and was fully booked, so getting the drone for a demo was going to be tough.  But Timothy is not easily intimidated by the impossible. He managed to negotiate having the drone for a single day.
So, we secured a single day for a demo with the only T100 in the country!  This would be the first time this drone is seen in action in the northern part of the country!

​Now for the flight test: This is the first time I am at the controls, so I am nervously excited! I go through all the flight safety checks, arm the drone and push up on the left stick to take off.  The drone fires up and whirrs into action.  I am caught off guard by the speed of the take-off as this drone does not mess around! Every stick input is precise, responsive and real-time. Flying on a rather windy day I am pleasantly surprised at the drone's absolute stability.  There is barely any buffeting from the wind, even with no payload!  The T40 and T50 felt a lot less responsive than this.

The T100 demo drone arrives!
 Here we are with the big unboxing.  Two massive boxes for the spray system and the spreader system, with a less intimidating box for the drone itself.  The drone looks like a sleeping spider, with all its blades tucked in.  It is a pretty compact drone when folded up.  Unpacking is not too hard and easy to do with two people.  Remember, the drone and spray tank plus battery weighs 75Kg according to DJI's specs, so it is pretty heavy.

​Filling it up with liquid is not the same as we are used to, since the T100 has a massive 100L tank.  Our height above sea level, however, has us limited to only 95L.  Putting in more liquid than recommended and the drone refuses to take off.  This is great for flight safety!  The drone roars up into the air with its full payload of 95L effortlessly and hovers stable.  I try to simulate what I can expect from a spray flight spraying at 30L/min, which would be the expected flowrate when spraying at 30L/ha and flying relatively fast.  The tank empties rather quickly, (Around 4 min) even though I allow for turns in my "simulation." Flight times are estimated to be around 4-6min per flight.  The battery's flight time is adequate, and I suspect the high-speed flights in and out of the field will save a lot of battery power for the actual spray job.  The new battery is only about 30% larger than the current battery of the T50.  This means there are many improvements on flight efficiency to do double the work with only 30% more battery.  I'm testing out all the functions, mapping and spraying, which is about the same as a T50.  However, some settings are different, but not so much that you'd be lost if you already have flown any other Agras drone.  The Lidar view on screen is a welcome addition and seeing it remember obstacles is a much-needed improvement as flying into objects at 50km/h+ is daunting even for a drone with Lidar.  However, with it remembering the obstacles as it flies past is great, making the drone slow down way before it can even pick up the obstacle in real-time.

What an amazing day it was!  We slept over at NJP Transport in Bethal the Sunday evening and was able to get on the field bright and early before sunrise.  Our first demo was due to start at 08h00 am at NJP, so we had enough time to sort out all the nitty-gritties before any farmers arrived.   We were all in good spirits and were looking forward to a great day.  Everything went well except for a stuck pump on our support vehicle which we managed to fix without incident before everyone arrived.  We did a quick flight test and a spray simulation without payload to see if the drone will spray at 72km/h as advertised.  Remember, this is the first time we have control of the drone, so we had to learn everything there is to know about the drone in this time.  The drone is happy to spray at 72km/h as long as its altitude is above 5m, else it will slow down to under 50km/h.  If you set your altitude to under 5m, you can fly up to a speed of 49.8km/h without any issue.  The drone holds altitude pretty well even in flatland mode, at speeds below 50km/h with terrain following enabled.  At 72km/h I recommend only flat lands, with an altitude set at 5.5m.
Things we learnt is that the drone can handle full payloads at 48km/h at 30L/h at lane widths of 10m.  However, at 20L/ha, you would have to limit payloads to 70L for 3.5Ha a flight or fly faster.  Flights are short and fast, and last 5-6 min with full payloads.  Any longer and you may run out of battery if you don't reduce payload.  However, for the most common 30L/ha applications, full payloads are possible at 48km/h.

​Spreading with the drone is a breeze.  I had no time to calibrate for the material, but the T100, which has way better control of the flowrate of the material with its new screw feed system, has an "auto calibration" material profile which I used.  The spreading looked decently accurate, but I couldn't determine how accurate, since I changed the application rate halfway through the flight and didn't want to go through the trouble of calculating with the change in application rate.

​We had great interest from everyone, and the first demo went smoothly.  I want to thank Nico and FJ from NJP Transport for the accommodation and venue and Gerrie for supplying the support vehicle.
​Now we had to pack up to go to the next demo, which was a five-hour drive to Koedoeskop outside Thabazimbi.
​We arrived at Koedoeskop at Sanleohan Trust, a farm of dear friends of ours, Willie and his son, Johan de Klerk, at around 16:30 so we had 30 minutes to setup before the first farmers arrived.  The team did their utmost and we setup really quickly.  Fortunately, we already knew what to do since we first setup at Bethal, so it went faster and without hiccups.

The setting was beautiful, with the sun just setting in the background. Special thanks to Donavan of Schoeman Geodata, who captured amazing aerial shots of the T100 as it was spraying and spreading.  We once again demonstrated the drone spraying and spreading capabilities.  The ease of changing over from the spraying to spreading system is worth mentioning, as it is possible to change from the spray system to the spreading system in around 40 seconds!  This time I spread at a constant 100kg/ha and, on the 0.37Ha field I set up, the spreading was almost exact at 38kg spread without calibration and spreading material that is not uniform in size and shape!  I was pleasantly surprised that it can be this accurate!  That said, I don't have enough data and testing, to verify it being this accurate on the "Autocalibration" material.  We shall figure that out in time, but I do believe this technology will greatly simplify your spreading tasks.

​The next morning, I dropped the T100 off for its next demo in Lichtenburg.  It was a wild few days, but it was amazing to experience this new technology.  I cannot wait for our first T100 to arrive.  I do believe anyone buying this beast wouldn't feel regrets, as this machine is in a class of its own.
​We finished our second demo at 18:30 and packed up.  We left Koedoeskop at 19:00 and slept over at Rustenburg. Some of the team stayed over with Johan and he gave them a tour of their cotton gin plant the next day. Thank you to Johan and Willie for their hospitality and the use of their farm and support equipment.

A really exciting field has been aerial applications with drones, whether spraying or spreading.
Modern drones are large and fast enough to be able to work faster, more precise and more efficient than boom sprays.  Boom sprayers have always had the advantage of economically laying down high volumes for pesticides that require it such as pre-emergence herbicides.  The release of the Agras T100 with it being capable of carrying up to 100L payload per flight, with extended spray package being able to spray up to 40 litres per minute, laying down 100L/Ha is not far-fetched or expensive with drones application.

Aerial application with air tractors has always been the go-to for large fields, since they are able to spray high volumes of pesticide at very high speeds.  The downsides are that aircraft are not as precise as other methods and also suffer highly from drift and evaporation.  The reason for this is due to the time the pesticides are in the air before they reach the ground, which is compounded by the wing vortexes.  Boom sprays have the best performance, since they are very close to the crop.  Drones come in a close second with a lower speed than aircraft causing less of a vortex, so time in the air is a lot less.  Drones also have strict terrain-following so the height above the crops are very consistent.  With the T100, which can easily cover 200+ hectares each per day, larger and larger fields can be covered with drones.

When it comes to costs, smart boom sprayers that regulate flow well are pretty costly to buy and maintain, whereas drones are comparatively cheap.  Air tractor contractors cost similar to drone contractors, so in the busy season, much of the load of air tractor contractors can be offloaded to drone contractors, since they can cover larger fields than before.

Drones are really easy to use as well.  Mapping and setting up fields are really simple and can be done from the remote with ease, with more accurate mapping being able to be done with the drone and RTK.  Setting up for spraying precisely is as simple as dialling in how many L/Ha you want sprayed and the drone calculates flow rates for the selected swathe width and flying speed. automatically.  The drone flies on autopilot the whole time flying out and keeping lanes with GPS technology.  Modern drones such as the T100 have accurate 3D Radar and LiDAR technologies that allows the drone to know exactly where there are obstacles and hazards in the 3D space around it.  When the spray tank is empty, the drone will return to home to be refilled.  All the relevant stats are displayed for you to verify that the spray work is satisfactory.

Tools such as the Agras Smartfarm app can be used to monitor your spray work and to see the stats of each flight.  Spraying accurately has never been this easy!

I was privileged to witness the T100 in action!
Standing next to the beast left me simply in awe of the power and capabilities of this craft.
Photos don't do it justice, however.

This is an absolute machine of a drone, rock solid in performance.  Lifting up 100l seems like a breeze with the drone seemingly being over capable of lifting the specified payload.

The LiDAR system is definitely the next step in autonomous drone navigation, with it being able to detect objects well beyond what the existing RaDAR can do, giving the drone time to react at high speeds.  Remember, this drone is capable of flying at 20m/s or 72Km/h and the RaDAR system is definitely not capable of handling obstacle avoidance on its own!

I was really surprised at how small the drone packs up, being able to fit easily on the back of any bakkie, even double cabs.

The extended spray package on the drone allows up to 40 litres per minute, which opens new doors in the fruit and vegetable industries, since the drone is able to scale well even at high water delivery rates of 50l/Ha and above.

I really believe that this is the drone that is an absolute game changer which can definitely replace traditional tractor sprayers while still being more affordable and faster!

The new drone is capable of lifting over double the payload of the T50, with only around 30% higher battery capacity, with speed controllers and motors designed with even higher efficiency in mind, spraying with anything other than a T100 seems less efficient and more costly, both in time and resources
The fact that DJI was able to achieve this engineering masterpiece at only a slight price increase compared to the previous generation is a testament to why DJI is and will remain the no.1 agri-drone manufacturer, with unmatched customer service excellence.

Hi there!

It is with great pride that we launch our website today!
AnJaLi has come a long way since our humble beginnings.
Just about a year ago we were in our workshop wondering how we can make a success of this.
Just a few months further from late December last year, we have been quite busy with drone service and repairs.

Our main goal for this upcoming season is to establish our brand and associate ourselves with exceptional service, with a devotion to building quality relationships with our customers.  May our service excellence exceed last year's.

In agricultural terms, the last two years have been rough on farmers and the agricultural community in general.
From a dry year to a late start in the season, to having incredible rainfall and flooding in many areas.
This season seems to have an early start as in most areas, the ground is still moist from last season's heavy rains.
We can hope and pray that this season will be one of rain in season, with good weather conditions, and strong plant growth.

So, without further ado, welcome to the AnJaLi family!
